Soy/soya whatever you call it
Tofu is made in much the same way as cheese, except that it is made from soya beans rather than milk. It is entirely plant-based, which means that it is an ideal food for vegans and for people who are intolerant of dairy products. Because it is prepared by separating the curds of the soya 'milk' from the whey, it is sometimes referred to as bean curds.
Tofu is pressed soybean curd. It comes in different textures used for different purposes. The soft has a custard-like consistency and can be blended easily or even scrambled up like eggs. The firm can be cut up, battered and fried like chicken nuggets or stir-fried with vegetables. Tofu doesn't have much taste of its own and will take on the flavors of what it's cooked with for the most part. It's high in protein, vegan friendly, very healthy stuff! The link here will give you more information and also some tasty recipes.
It's made out of soy beans. You can either buy it done or make it yourself at home. It usually substitutes eggs, as it has a lot of protein. It's also a low calorie food.Tofu contains the 8 essential amino acids, so it's very good for you. It's usually eaten for breakfast. You can cook it like you make scrambled eggs. But It tastes bland if it's on its own, so get some vegetables with it.
Tofu (璞嗚厫), also t艒fu (the Japanese Romaji spelling), doufu (the Chinese Pinyin spelling), dubu (from the Korean pronunciation), toufu, or bean curd (the literal translation), is a food of Chinese origin,[1] made by coagulating soy milk, and then pressing the resulting curds into blocks. There are many different varieties of tofu, including fresh tofu and tofu that has been processed in some way. Tofu has very little flavor or smell on its own, so it can be used either in savory or sweet dishes, and is often seasoned or marinated to suit the dish.
The production of tofu from soy milk is similar to the production of cheese from milk, although some tofu is made by processing non-soy products, such as almonds or black beans. The byproduct of the process is soy pulp (also called okara in Japanese).
Cook tofu using one of these methods:
Pan-fry over medium-high or high heat for a crispy golden tofu with a softer centre. Time: less than 10 minutes.
Deep-fry in oil for a creamy centre and decadent exterior (dip in sauce afterwards). Time: less than 5-10 minutes.
Bake in sauce or marinade for a chewier, meatier texture. Time: less than 1 hour.
Barbecue for an intense flavour. Time: about 20 minutes
Soft Tofu
Soft or silken tofu has the texture of a custard when blended. Some soft tofus come flavoured; these are perfect to eat on their own as desserts.

soybean curd. it really has no flavor, but rather takes on the flavor of anything you cook it with. for example, if you make vegetable soup, and put tofu in it, the tufo will take on the flavor of the vegetables.
