Does your doctor treat a lot of healthy vegetarians? Because many western vegetarians rely too heavily on soy for their protein, and soy can be somewhat allergenic, so it can cause problems to rely too heavily on it.

Legumes (like beans) paired with grains (like rice and corn) make terrific complete proteins, and there are so many different dishes you can make if you look into Mexican, Native American or Indian cooking. You could eat 5-6 meals a week without ever getting bored.

Quinoa is a complete protein, and vegan as well. Cook it up like rice, it has a somewhat stronger flavor, I like to season it with soy sauce when hot, or make a salad out of it cold with a vinaigrette dressing and other vegetables.

Tofu takes on the flavor of whatever it is cooked with. You can make meat dishes and add it in the place of the meat if you like, as long as there is plenty of other seasoning. But I wouldn't eat soy for a meal more than about 5x a week maximum, and that includes the ice cream substitute products, soy yogurt, soy milk, textured soy protein (such as would be found in vegetarian chili mixes). What are some good ways to cook...?
An easy way to cook tofu is to chop it up, serve it among different veggies, and season it.
If you have extra firm then you can make a stir fry and use the tofu as the meat in it. Cut it into strips as you would beef/pork/chicken and fry with veggies and sauce. Serve over brown rice.

If you have silken tofu then you can make a chocolate mousse with it. I don't know the recipe, but I'm sure there are a ton online.

You can also use silken in smoothies instead of yogurt. Frozen fruit plus tofu plus juice or milk plus sugar if needed.
Put it in an egg drop soup

Marinade it in whatever you like and saute it in veg's

You can fry it

Protein is also in peanut butter, couscous, legumes and cheeses. Why not eat some of that stuff? Also, read labels and find hidden protein in other foods.
When it comes to tofu, options are limited. But I had it one time deep fried, with nothing on it. It actually came out not to bad. Other than that, make some soup with it, with a flavorful broth.
While tofu is okay look into other protiens as well. Such as aduki beans (has the most protien of any beans), peanut butter, and eggs if you eat them. Also cheese and dairy products are high in protein. Also drink almond milk and try almond cheese, both very yummy.

Make a stir fry type dish of all kinds of left over veggies, or cut up what ever you have on hand. Saute then add some tofu (or even chicken or turkey if you do that), and some salsa. Pop in the oven with some crushed up corn totrilla chips and shredded cheese.

Do you eat fish? Fish is a good source of protien as well.
