How do you cook tofu?

I have marinated it with some veggies. This is my first time cooking it and I want to stir-fry it with the veggies. Any tips for getting it right? How do you cook tofu?
There are two kinds of tofu: firm and silky. The firm kind of tofu is best for stir-fries. Cut them into cubes (about half an inch or so) then fry them in hot hot oil for a couple of minutes to a golden brown. Set aside. Cook the veggies then mix in the tofu in the final moments of cooking to preserve its crispiness. Serve immediately and enjoy! =)How do you cook tofu?

It is really up to you as far as what consistency you are going for. It can be fried to the point of just being warm but still sort of mushy to being fried crispy.
It麓s great with veggies. Just cut it up in 5/8 '; cubes and stir fry in a small amount of olive oil. Takes about 2 to 2 1/2 minutes. Sprinkle a little sea salt and coarse ground black pepper to taste. I usually use fresh asparagus and broccoli which is makes a great combo. Go easy with the light soy sauce if you prefer that instead of salt.
the best way to learn to cook tofu is to ask a chiense person FROM china or to search REAL chinese recipes. When i was in china i had a lot of tofu there. Tofu tastes HOWEVER you flavor it so there are many possibilities. My favorite tofu dish in china was called Ma po Tofu it's really easy.

1 Brick of Tofu soft or silk

1/4 pound of beer or pork

1 green pepper

2 Tbsp soy sauce

2 Tbsp water

1/4 tsp salt

2 - 3 tablespoons oil

2 Tbsp. Sichuan chili bean paste (maybe can find at a chinese supermarket)

Scallions

First you need to cook the tofu. you have to hold the brick of tofu in your hand and cut it into small squares. You can either boil it or Fry it in oil. I prefer to fry it because i like a little crunchyness on the outside. If you boil it only for for like 2 mins, frying it maybe 2 mins on each side. You have to be gentle with it either way cause it can break easily.

After that put a little big of oil in a wok, or some kind of small circular pot. Once that heats up put the meat of your choice in it so it can cook. You need to cut the meat up in smaller pieces. I also like to cut up green peppers and add that as well, bu that is optional. After that you can add the rest of the ingredients except the tofu and scallions. Let them cook for 2 mins. Then add in the tofu, stirr for 1 min then add the scallions and stir again. Put the top on it lower the heat and let simmer for 2 to 3 mins. I find it's best to let this dish sit for 10 mins before serving. Most chinese people preferr to eat this over top of white rice. To make this dish according to your liking it is best to taste while cooking, that way you will know exactly how much salt and stuff you preferr in this dish.

Here is a picture of the finished product. Please keep in mind you can add any meat or vegetable to this dish that you like.

Put a cedar plank in a 350 degree oven for ten minutes, take it out and put tofu on it and return to oven for ten more minutes. Remove from oven, throw the tofu away and eat the plank.
if oyu dont want it to be all squishy like some restrants have and other places...you can cut it up in small squares and srick it in the fridge for like 15-24 mins and then take it out and you can fry it and it tastes REALLY good like that...
it depends on what kind of tofu u are cooking,

if it is the softest tofu, then you can just eat it with some sweet water (sugar + water), it tastes better after colding it.

others kinds of tofu, you can try fried tofu. it is always the best.

cut them into samll cube , then put all over the flour or corn flour, then fried. Tastes better with soya sauce.
I let the heat from the sun cook it inside my metal trash can
